Alba Martínez, the founder and CEO of Ritmo Lab, producer and creative of La Guagua 47, is a lawyer, musician, and multimedia producer. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, surrounded by music and art. Alba taught herself multiple instruments and played in Latin music groups when she moved to Washington, D.C. at 19 to study law.
Deciding that she wanted to dedicate her life to the service of others, Alba remained in the United States and had a distinguished career as a public interest lawyer, community activist, nonprofit leader, and business executive for over three decades. She has held senior executive positions at Vanguard, United Way, the City of Philadelphia, and Congreso de Latinos Unidos. In 2020, Alba decided to dedicate her time fully to community impact once again. She left her financial services executive job and founded Ritmo Lab to pursue her passion for celebrating and shining a light on Latinidad and the presence, creativity, culture, and contributions of Latinos in the US and beyond.
